Find workflows

Returns the n8n workflows you have access to, filtered by name, tags or project, with each one's ID and whether it is active.

On the MCP server, query matches names and descriptions and returns up to 200 previews, and availableInMCP shows which workflows an agent can run. On the API, filter with name, tags, active or projectId.

Set up

Use the first option your agent supports.

MCP (official, remote)

Add this server to your agent's MCP settings, then sign in when asked.

Call the MCP tool search_workflows.

CLI (official)

Install the command, then confirm it runs.

npm install -g @n8n/cli
n8n-cli --version

Run n8n-cli workflow list.

Set $N8N_API_KEY in your environment first.

API (official)
