# Search companies

Returns company profiles matching a natural-language query or filters for industry, location, size, revenue, funding and technologies.

Note: Costs 1 credit per company returned, with a 1-credit minimum; workforce expansion adds 5 credits per company. Returns up to 100 companies per page and 10,000 through pagination; use the scroll endpoint for more.

Before anything else, confirm access with the cheapest read-only call, like a list or a search. Never send or change anything to test access.

## Rules

- Ask the user before anything that sends messages, costs money, or changes data, and say how many records it touches. One approval covers a batch the user has seen.
- Never print API keys.
